a surprise Bill's gotta love...

Bill's birthday is only a week and a half away...he's going to be 32...shhhhh, please don't tell anyone 'cause he's getting kind of sensitive about this aging business.

I have something planned for his birthday and I'm quite sure that it'll be way better than what I planned last year, especially considering that it didn't turn out exactly as I'd planned. Bill made a post about last year's disastrous plan of mine...you can read it here, then you can hear my side of the story.

Ok, so maybe you read the back-post, and maybe you're running short on time and didn't bother...either way I'll tell you about last year 'in a nutshell'.

When Bill turned 30, two years ago, we couldn't afford to do much of anything for his birthday, so last year I wanted to make it up to him. My sister is a travel agent so I asked her for some help. I wanted to take Bill somewhere different, a place where we could just relax and have fun together. I chose Calabogie Peaks Resort. Now, in case you read Bill's post, you'll know that we don't ski (yeah, you read right...we don't ski)...and that he thinks it was ridiculous of me to plan a trip there because of it. Well, in my little head, I saw all the other things there were to do there and thought it would be fun. We could try cross-country skiing or snowshoeing...they had tubing and ice-skating...an indoor pool and outdoor hot tub...see, fun! Besides, I knew that we had a great room with a fireplace and jacuzzi ;) Maybe I was just planning a romantic getaway that would be nice for Bill to plan for me, but I really did think we'd have fun there. No, things didn't turn out the way I'd hoped, but at least we tried something new and we'll always remember that trip!

This year I'm not being so fancy...but I still have a secret plan...no, I can't tell you, not yet...it will spoil the surprise! All I'm going to say is that Bill won't be posting about another birthday weekend gone bad this year...I so love surprises, especially when it's me planning them :)
