why bother???

Ok, as Bill just said, he loves Battlestar Galactica. I don't. In fact, he loves it so much that he desperately wants me to watch it with him...why, I don't know. I told him that I will try to watch that with him, IF he watches one of my favorite shows with me, Desperate Housewives. He responded by asking me if I would give it 'a real try'. Hummmmm, let me think about that for a minute...nope, I changed my mind. I've seen bits and pieces of the show and it just doesn't interest me...besides, it looks like the kind of show that you might have to know the background...you can't just come into the second year of it and know what's going on. This would lead to many questions from me and Bill would get annoyed and want me to shut up so he could hear what's going on...or have to keep pausing it to give me explainations, which would lead to just as much annoyance. I can just hear his eyes rolling from here! So, honey, I love you, but why bother trying to get me into a show that just doesn't interest me?? I know that sometimes I show interest in science fiction, but not this time...give it up, I'm not buying. Besides, you know that you'd rather watch your show in peace...peace that you won't have listening to, "who's that...what's she doing...why'd she kill him...is that guy human..."...am I right, or am I right??!!
