Well, Friday evening we were supposed to go to get the Kids for a weekend visit but the snow had started before I got home and it was some sort of nasty hybrid between slush and ice rain that coated the roads and sidewalks with snow that turned to ice as soon as you stepped on it. I went to the store for Kim and nearly wiped out several times. So we cancelled the trip and rescheduled to Sunday since they are on March Break next week.
Kim and I spent Saturday mostly lazing around, watching some TV, and generally doing nothing. Yeah, it was irresponsible since we have lots to do but hey, it felt like a dark mid-winter day and not the almost-spring I was hoping for.
A lot of snow fell. Sunday morning I went out to shovel and spent a few minutes just gawking at the white stuff. It took me about 45 minutes to do the walk and the driveway around the car. Neighbour Steve, the kind soul he is, came over with the Nuclear Powered Military Grade Snow Blower X-1000 and did the end of the driveway that was particularly nasty from the snowplow snow. Thus freed we jumped into the car and drove to get the Kids.
This could be our last visit for a while so we intend to make the most of it before we take them home on Wednesday after work.
