Dog Days of Summer

Where did the expression "dogs days of summer" come from anyways?

For me, this is the worst part of the year. Oppressive heat, humidity, and vacation still weeks away. Work tends to be entering the "silly season" when co-workers are thinking about vacation, or on vacation, or catching up after vacation instead of actually working on projects you need them to. All in all, I'm glad when its over.

Fortunately this year the oppressive heat waves have been less frequent than usual and sleeping has not been too hard.

Next week starts an experimental idea of mine. We are going to have one of the Kids up for a week at a time starting with Holden. At first Kim thought it was a great idea but know she's not so sure. She's the one that has to watch them during the day while I escape to work. Better make sure I'm not home late!
