OK, I agree that if the students agreed not to do something and then they go and do it anyways the Principal has a reason to be upset.(03-06) 14:12 PST CROSS RIVER, New York (AP) --
A public high school has suspended three students who disobeyed officials by saying the word "vagina" during a reading from a well-known feminist play.
[...]But Principal Richard Leprine said Tuesday that the girls were punished because they disobeyed orders, not because of what they said.
The event was open to the community, including children, and the word was not appropriate, Leprine said in a statement. He said the girls had been told when they auditioned that they could not use the word.
But I think that telling the students they could not use the word 'vagina' in the first place is incredibly stupid. Time for people to get out of this "body parts are bad" mentality. I mean its not like they showed pictures of vaginae or flashed the audience their breasts. Its a word, the proper word, and we should not be ashamed to use it.

more children I know are less embarassed to use the proper word than many adults are.
What message does it send children when we use proper words for every body part except for our genitals...it teaches them that there is something dirty/wrong with those parts and they have something to be ashamed of. You'd think a school would know this.
