Third Stripe and Holding

I successfully accomplished my third stripe review for Yellow last night. Most of the test was easy, I only had trouble on some techniques that I don't do very often, the single and double leg takedowns. Oh, and I forgot the rear mugging escape standing which was embarrassing. I was concentrating so much on the other stuff I forgot that hold escape. Oh well.

Like I said earlier, Belt test night for August is next Wednesday, but I still need to do a Red Tip Review which reviews everything on my test, and find an uke for Wednesday. I doubt that is going to happen cause I don't want to rush it all. I figure it would be better to take my time, practice my stuff, and do it right later even if I have to wait another month. Not that they will make me sit at third stripe for a month at such a low belt level, they will probably say "let's do it such and such a night next week" and then bob's your uncle.

Ok, let me see...to get our of the 'rear mugging escape standing', first you drop down into the horse stance...then you give a sharp elbow jab into the gut...then you hit the groin...then, elbow to the face...then you are free to smash in the guy's skull if he doesn't back away OR instead of the smash you can hip throw him, get him into a lock and smash his face once he's on the ground!

...I love violence...have I mentioned that before??

Nope. Your right for a lot of bear hugs, but the rear mugging escape standing is when the uke comes around and puts his right arm around your neck from behind.

You have to:
1) grab his arm with both your hands and pull down.
2) turn to the right and stomp on his right foot
3) Perform a shoulder throw
Now you know!

well, if I knew that the guy's arm was around my neck, I would've known to grab his arm and pull down...of course I may have added a head slam in there ;)
