and I thought he was pretty observant...

For the most part, Bill is pretty observant. When I get my hair done or wear a new outfit, he usually notices...although maybe that's because spending money's involved! hehehe

The other day Bill noticed for the first time that the knobs on our kitchen drawers and cupboards match the countertop. We've lived here for a little over two years now.

The reason he noticed was because one of the circle insert things on the knobs fell out. He heard a sound and went into the kitchen to see what it was. He was quite surprised when he picked up the little circle to put it back and realized that it was exactly the same as the countertop. As soon as he told me this, of course I had to have myself a little chuckle. The matching knobs and countertops was one of the first things I noticed about the kitchen when we were looking to buy the house! (Bill said that the first thing he noticed was the flat-top stove) I guess us women are more into the details...but, come on! He's been in that kitchen practically every day since we've lived here...and some of the knobs are right at eye level! In total, there are 39 knobs in the kitchen, and yes, I counted them.

I took some pictures to give you a better idea of what I'm talking about...

Ok, you can see the countertop...it's speckled black and gray...so is the front of the knob on the drawer.

This picture is the corner of the kitchen...even from a distance one can notice that the knobs and countertops match...and some are definitely at eye level.

Ok, now this is no big deal...it just surprised the heck out of me that not once did Bill notice this. I've had friends come over, who after a few minutes have commented about the coordination of the kitchen and matching counters and knobs. Hummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

Must be a woman thing???

After Bill told me that he didn't know they matched, I asked him what color the rest of the knob was...he was like..."gold...or silver...or gold...or silver??" He did, however, know exactly what color the ones in the bathroom are...he said that was because he had to tighten one up once.

I'm sure you women reading this know "off-the-top-of-your-head", what color the knobs are in both your kitchen and bathrooms. I'm also sure that many of the men reading this won't have a clue. Go figure...
