Pink Shopping

I was in Globo with Kim last night looking at buying shoes. Much to Kim's consternation, I picked out a pair of Reebok white running shoes. She hates Reebok and tried to dissuade me from my choice. But they fit, felt good, and weren't too expensive.

While I was waiting for my shoes to come out of the back room, Kim checked out running shoes as well. Not that she needs them, she has new shows at home. But apparently a girl can never have enough choice for footwear. So she picked out several pair to show to me, all of them having some bit of pink on them. "Oh, these are cute!"

Kim's fascination with the colour pink lately has me very puzzeled. When we first started going out, she was a dark grey and black clothes wearing girl with docs and tough attitude, listening to alternative rock like Smashing Pumpkins. Now she has a pink fetish (including PJs and slippers!) and listens to pop.

What's that old saying? Women marry men thinking they can change them, men marry women hoping they'll stay the same.

I still love her though. Pink looks good on her.

  1. Sorry, babe...I'm just growing up I guess! After all, I was only 19 when we met...

The question is...would you really want me to go back to wearing baggy black t-shirts, ripped jeans and my docs all the time??? Think about it for a few minutes...and as for my attitude...some things never change :)

  3. ...plus, I've always LOVED Madonna and 80's music (both dance/pop)...guess you just met me when I was going through a "phase"...then again, you never were one to easily accept change. Remember the first time I dyed my hair??? You literally went nuts because you thought that meant I was going to change...and I did. I changed into that grunge girl you seem to remember so fondly...that definately wasn't how I dressed when we started dating.

As for the pink thing, I don't really understand it either. I've always had a strong aversion to the color...probably because it was often forced on me as a child. Thanks to Erin, I'm healed and now am making up for lost time!!! (at least that's the best reason I can think of)
