Movie Review - V for Vendetta

Kim and I took in a Matinee at South Keys yesterday, watching V for Vendetta.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the movie and the depths to which it plumbed. Although it went overboard in certain areas such as the intensity of High Chancellor Sutter (who was more of a Hitler clone than anything) a significant part of the movie was realistic and therefore quite scary. It is entirely plausible that our generation, so comfortable that we have become in our luxury, would trade our basic freedoms for the security of a dictatorship.

It was a long movie but interesting and for the most part unpredictible which is always welcome in my world where movies are too often formulatic and spoonfed to the audience.

I give it 4 stars out of 5.

watched V for Vendetta recently, loved it. eye-candy effects, amazing how much character they developed into a mask, then again, maybe he was more than a mask...
